The weekend just gone was spent at the most wonderful place, SOMERSET DAM with the Springwood teens! We had fun times including mini Olympics, sleeping under tarps and most excitingly tubing, wakeboarding (I even managed to get outside of the wake this time), kneeboarding and all round water fun!
Tim and JLou having a bit of a wakeboard
We are tubing ninja's!
There are more photos to come...I only had ones from tubing and kneeboarding. The rest were taken on Mali and Kellie's cameras, I will share them when I can.
Tuesdays are pretty much my worst days a uni - I am in lectures from 8am till 4pm with only 1 hour break and then have a 3 hour tutorial after that. But yesterday we absolutely smashed through our tutorial and were out at 4:45, so KP and I made the most of our afternoon and went for a bit of a longboard (she has just bought her own board) so it was quite exciting!
There were lots of these smilie suns and 'Have a happy Day' along the footpath.
Kaycee was definitely having a 'Happy Day'
Even the rain cleared up and we were blessed with this beautiful rainbow!
Lately I have been wanting to add a little something to my room and make it more fun! I have a fascination with green at the moment and have started to gear my room colours to accommodate this. Check out this lovely DIY wall decorator item. Isn't it just amazing... it is made from vintage frame, some chicken wire and uses clothesline pegs to hold everything on there. I love it!!!
Today mum and I went on a bit of a hunt for some birthday stuff, I don't know how much of that we actually got, but I found the cutest picnic basket I have ever seen (it was a bargain) and mum found a stack of old and new children's books that are just wonderful.
lunch in the shade of trees... waiting for my next 5 hours of classes.
the same 5 hour which are so boring... very little note taking occurred.
then at the end of the day... a long walk back to my car.
However with all this craziness, I attempted to listen and be a model student giving you this FUN FACT:Your corpus callosum (it joins your left and right sides of the brain) does not myelinate until you are 30 years old. Meaning you do not have full capacity and use of both sides of the brain at one time until this age!
The rummage is back on this Sunday!! This will be my second visit and although I am still a newbie in the finding and selling of fabulous items Kellie and Mali, my two best friends, are not. There will be lots of vintage, pre-loved and home-made items that you should come and check out.
It is in Brisbane city at the top of Queen St Mall, we would love for you to stop by and say hello. You may even find a treasure or two!
My friend Kellie is organising a vintage sheet fat quarters swap, and if you love vintage fabrics and sewing you should definately be apart of it! I am excited to expand my fabric collection and have some new sewing inspiration. If you would like to be apart of the swap check out Kellie's blog explaining what you need to do.
