Day 30 - Who am I?

I can be labelled as a daughter, sister, friend and student to name a few... but to describe me a little better I am loud, outgoing, sometimes crazy, stubborn, carefree and most of all a child of God.

Day 29 - What I've learnt in the past month...

* not to worry but instead make the most of what God has given, he has a plan.
* that I have the most amazing family and friends in the world.
* I have a new found love for tea and reading books among other loves!

Longboard Love...

Yesterday I finally got my longboard!!! Its a Sector 9 46 inch' and I think she is beautiful, but you decide for yourself...
...I cant wait to take her form a first ride!

Flood Shenanigans...

12:30am Christmas morning... 'Wake up Chanelle, you need to pick everything up of the floor the house might flood'. My whole family was outside shovelling and sweeping water away from my house and making barriers to help stop the water creeping inside. The rain finally stopped at around 2:30 and we were able to get some sleep.
Still all smiles!

4:00pm Boxing Day... Once again we were outside shovelling and sweeping, except this time it was much worse. I ended up calling some friends of ours to help us out and there was more sweeping, shovelling and trench digging, but finally the rain did stop and this is what eventuated...
...we did do some actual work too.

I was quite spoilt this year...all the presents I got were so fabulous and exactly what I wanted.

The cutest teapot I have ever seen in my life from fabulous Mali!
Temper Trap CD - Conditions!!! and the last season of McLeod's Daughters from my fantastic brother.

I also got money from my parents and my Grandy to help me buy a longboard!!! So excited...I'm going shopping with Jarryd, Mali and Tim tomorrow to see if I can find one I like.

We has christmas this year was at my Grandy's.  There was so much food and delicious desserts that I even had to have a nap in the afternoon.

Handmade love...

I had no idea what I was going to get my brother for christmas this year, but I knew he wanted a longboard (as do I). I didn't want to buy one for him in case I got the wrong one, so I got a little creative and made this and gave him money for his board.

Day 28 - last year and now, how have I changed?

This time last year I was in the wonderful USA carving it up on the snow fields in Lake Tahoe.

And this year, I am home with family and friends.

I haven't changed that much, but I think I have become myself this year...I no longer try and please people or do things for the sake of doing them. I stand up for myself and what I think, and I don't really care what others think of me...I know who the important people in my life are and they are what matter. To put it simply I FOUND MY IDENTITY!

Day 27 - why I am doing the thirty day challenge...

To put it simply... I am a blogger newby and this was such a cool way for me to start.

Now if you haven't already realised I am kinda in love with chalk at the moment. This is the coolest thing I have seen done with chalk so far...
creating pictures and featuring yourselves in them...these particular ones I found over at, It's a Jamie Thing, and are used for wedding save-the-dates and invitations. What a cool idea and how fun!!!

This is another fun use of chalk...a daily calendar of sort on your wall.

Home Inspiration...

I can not wait to have a house of my very own to decorate and just frolic in. Check  out some of these wonderful housing ideas...
How wonderful is this home library...I would love to have a collection that will fill a whole wall someday.

...a room just for craft and sewing, a dream for any craft lover.

if you forget where things are hidden...how bout a chalkboard kitchen to help! Not really what I think I will want though.

Day 26 - what I think about my friends...

They are the BEST and super fun to be around...we are all very similar in ways but extremely different at the same time, which is awesome. They are part of my family and I love them dearly, I couldn't imagine having better friends than these three.
See don't they look rad and super  fun to hangout with!

The Temper Trap...

They are an Indie Rock band that I have recently been loving. Their song Fader is by far my favourite song at the moment...I first was introduced to it in the movie Tomorrow When the War Began (do yourselves a favour and watch this if you haven't already...it is AWESOME!!!) and I have been in love with it ever since. Other songs of theirs include Sweet Disposition (500 Days of Summer...yet another movie you should watch) and Love Lost, both of which I really enjoy.
Their Latest CD - Conditions - definitely on my Christmas wish list.

Day 25 - what is in my bag...

Well I very rarely carry a bag with me except when I'm at at uni...but  I do have all the the necessities with me like my phone and wallet at all times, and more often than not my ipod as well.

Day 24 - A letter to my parents...

Mum and Dad,

How can I ever thank you enough for the life you have given me and the way you have provided, supported,  guided, loved as well as the occasional disciplining, shaping me into who I am today.  I would not have been able to accomplish half the things I have done without you both. Thanks for fun times, laughter, great memories and being the best parents I could have asked for.

I want a blackboard wall...

Lately I have been loving the idea of painting a wall in my room to be a blackboard...I think it looks really cool and how fun is to be able to write on your walls and just wipe it off later. Check out these awesome blackboard ideas that I love...

This old dresser looks so good painted, I didn't think I would like it but I do.

This is a really cool looking calendar.

This is amazing a fully painted blackboard room. Check out Poppytalk blog for other cool ideas.

Day 23 - something I crave a lot...

MANGOES!!! They are the most amazing fruit ever and I am loving that they are coming back in season.

Day 22 - what makes me different...

Well there is no one thing that makes me different, but I am definitely one of a kind. I am no girly girl and I tend to be a very loud and annoying at times...I love the outdoors, bonfires, singing really loudly in the car and all things potato (its my fav food). Im studying Physiotherapy...so people think I'm smart, but I'm really not I just work hard and I have awesome family and friends including my rad brother!

So to sum it up I'm a outdoor loving pyromaniac, that loves potato, tends to sing loudly, who is also loud and annoying at times, a wannabe physio with a rad brother.  One of a kind enough?

Day 21 - Picture of something that makes me happy...

My family are pretty much pyromaniacs and we just love having a good bonfire...and they tend to be quite large.

Last night I went to see the ever so wonderful JACK JOHNSON!!! It was such a fun concert and he definitely did not disappoint. I also loved his pianist Zach Gill...they are both such talented musicians.

1 concert down 4 to go for my 101 list...looking forward to Brooke Fraser in January.

Day 20 - who will I marry...

Currently I am single and therefore no plans of marriage in the near future haha... but when I do meet this person it will be someone who loves me for me and nothing else.
How rad is this wakeboarding bride and groom?

I love fun different things at weddings, checkout Bridalhood for other fun things.

Day 19 - Nicknames...

I have had many nicknames over the years, but these are the most common ones that I still get...
Belle... my Mum use to call me Chelly Belly, but it was shortened to Chell Belle and now just Belle. It has been adopted by some of my friends.
Chanel Bags... one of my friends mistakingly read Chanel (as in the brand) bags to be a nickname for me and now it has stuck ever since.
Chanels... just a shortened quick version of my name, I guess.

Here are a couple of the others...
Nell or Nelly... while in America, one of my friends I met there started calling me Nell or Nelly because none of the ski school kids could say my full name and it was easier. I don't get it that often back home, mostly its just kids that cannot say Chanelle.
Smells... one of my friends decided that it was a funny joke that every time someone said my name he would yell 'smells' after. So after awhile he just shortened it to smells...the funny thing was I started to answer to it after awhile. He has moved to sydney now so no more 'Chanelle Smells'

Day 18 - Plans, Dreams, Goals...

Plans...to graduate, travel and work abroad.
Dreams...to own my own holiday house at the snow.
Goals...to work at the Olympics or Commonwealth Games.
Among other things I wish to accomplish throughout life...

Day 17 - switch lives for a day...

This was a difficult one to choose...because I just had no idea on who! I thought about famous people who have had great triumphs like Ben Carson and Amelia Earhart, singers like Regina Spektor and Brooke Fraser or ever movie stars like Zooey Deschanel.  So to be honest I have no idea at all...but if I find out I will let you all know.
